Dr. Joanna
Lin is a Consultant Oncologist and Physician in private practice at
Mount Elizabeth
and Gleneagles Hospitals in Singapore.
Dr. Lin
obtained her medical degree from King’s College Hospital, London,
England.
She worked in several London teaching hospitals in general
internal medicine and
oncology positions. She completed and received
her post graduate degree, and moved to
Hong Kong with her husband in
1991. She became a Lecturer / Assistant Professor in
Clinical
Oncology at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Hong Kong and
participated in research
into several cancers common to Asian
patients. After leaving Hong Kong in 1995, Dr. Lin settled
in
Singapore and was attached to the Department of Medical Oncology at
National
University Hospital, Singapore before leaving in 1997 to
commence private practice.
She is a Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy
of Medicine, and also a Fellow of the Academy
of Medicine in
Singapore. She has written book chapters, had publications in
several
international journals and has lectured in many regional and
international medical
oncology symposiums.
She is an
active committee member of the Singapore Society of Oncology.
She
also actively supports the hospice movement in Singapore, and has
been a part time
volunteer consultant at Assisi Home and Hospice.
She has given lectures in support of patients
and their support
groups such as the Breast Cancer Foundation and the Singapore Cancer
Society.
